Henri Bendel’s 120th Anniversary Celebration in Houston

April Ann Styles was honored to be extended an invitation to Henri Bendel’s 120th Anniversary celebration.  On April 29th at the Houston Galleria, Bendel presented an exhibition and launch of the Suite 712 Eau de Parfum and Heritage Collection.  It was an absolute privilege to attend.  Wine and champagne flowed as the smiles and laughs saturated the air.  Exquisite Bendel girls glided gracefully about, serving up tantalizing treats which delighted and danced upon our taste buds…all while the enchanting scent of Suite 712 lingered so sweetly.

It has been said that even the most mildly educated fashionista will find the luxury and history of the Bendel brand familiar.  For the uninitiated, however, let me provide the abridged history lesson. Henri Bendel is responsible for bringing the world renowned Coco Chanel brand to the United States. Bendel was also the first luxury retailer with an upper Fifth Avenue address, the first to hold semi-annual sale, the first to hold in-store makeovers, and the first to stage a fashion show!  What does all of this mean to us fashion junkies?  An absolute fashion adrenaline rush!  It is unequivocally remarkable how this brand intricately connects the wearer to nothing less than pieces of American fashion history.

Attending the event with forerunner Houston Designer and friend, Jessica Lombana, I was at no loss for noteworthy viewing.  I additionally had the pleasure of visiting with my favorite Bendel Girl sales associate, Brittany.  It must be noted that Brittany is the perfect girl to escort you through your experience at Henri Bendel. Her charming laughter, her delightful presence, and sweet nature make you feel as if you’ve been friends for years. Customer Service is number ONE in my book when deciding where to shop and bring my clients.  Bendel does not disappoint.

I also had the pleasure to meet and visit with Corie McCabe, manager and public relations for Henri Bendel as she was visiting from Bendel’s central hub located in New York.  New fashion friends bonded as if they were old fashion friends, all while sipping champagne and chatting about the excitingly original, up and coming Bendel trendsetters.
